A few months before this one of my buddies was coming into town and I googled 'computer museum' on a lark, and that's how I found out about this joint. Their main convention is a yearly thing, and they have group garage sales in the parking lot during the off season. I did go to one of their earlier garage sales and bought some tasty old crap, and the antique crap mongers told me that the real good stuff is usually held for sale at the yearly convention. I could barely believe my ears, I was looking at a teletype, I was genuinely considering buying a teletype, and you're telling me there's even older and more beautiful crap than this?

Unfortunately my late arrival to the convention was right about when they were closing up shop. The stuff that was still on the tables was already picked over by the crowds, so I didn't buy anything this time. But I got the sense it must have been an impressive display on Friday afternoon, based off the number of sparsely populated shelves and folding tables.

During my misadventures in trying to get my printer to work on linux I discovered that there's still working built-in support for dot matrix printers in the cups/lp/lpr/etc software stacks, so I'm hoping to find one at next year's gathering.
